Agreeing to Epworth House means that you are committed to its stated missional aims and of creating a welcoming and “safe and affirming place” that nurtures the growth, talents and abilities for all community members, and to cooperating with the Resident Assistants and Epworth House Manager to ensure the safety and welfare of all Epworth House members.
The house is run by the Epworth House Management Committee and overseen by the Epworth House Manager. Two Resident Assistants are selected yearly to help keep residents informed about House related matters as well as actively listen to residents about their needs, making sure they are communicated clearly with the Epworth House Committee. The committee consists of the ministers and members of the Leichhardt Uniting Church congregation.
Some contribution to the benefit of Epworth House community is required as well as maintaining a connection with the wider Leichhardt Uniting Church community whether it be participating in or shared events and services, devoting some time or creative talents or contributing towards social justice issues organised by Leichhardt Uniting Church.
Residents can receive mentorship and pastoral care to help them navigate through their formative time as young adults. Epworth residents have opportunities to be part of leadership workshops and seminars with the aim of increasing their confidence as young adults, strengthening their faith and broadening their sense of community.
